In 2017 I earned my PhD in English literature from Indiana University. I specialize in early modern drama, especially works by William Shakespeare and his cohort, as well as the history of humanism and media theory, including contemporary and new media adaptations. In general, I'm also interested in new media textuality, including ludic and interactive texts. In practice, I've designed and taught numerous courses on composition and literature.

There is a special issue of the journal Borrowers & Lenders I edited on Shakespeare and gaming, which builds from concerns in an article I co-wrote with my colleague Matthew Harrison on Hamlet video games. I've also published in Modern Philology and the Journal of Narrative Theory.

And check out this popular press article I wrote for Vice's Waypoint about the webcomic Homestuck, which precipitated the podcast Homestuck Made This World, which in turn documents the research I undertook for an in-progress monograph on the comic for the Franchise Cultures series at University of Minnesota Press.
