Sometimes I write fairly straightforward stories. Sometimes I write and design hypertext-based interactive fiction. Whatever I'm writing, there's usually a monster in there somewhere.

smiledog

Also known as "The Curious Case of Smile.jpg", this is a "creepypasta" or scary story I wrote just for the internet. I posted it and the original smiledog image (the red one, if you must know) to 4chan in 2009 and since then it has taken on a bizarre life of its own. Here is an episode of BBC4 radio on the topic, and they interviewed me.

'scrow

Originally posted in 2012, this is a story about a bunch of weirdos on a forum for scarecrow hobbyists posting themselves into oblivion while bad things happen around them.

UnWindr

A sequel to the above story, written in 2013, about people reviewing corn mazes. As before, this somehow goes very badly.

Tower of the Blood Lord

My first game, written in Twine in 2012. It is a game about games, such as Call of Duty, and type of person they ask us to be.

my father's long, long legs

A game from 2013. A woman tells you the story of her family, centering on her father and his very strange habits.

Patrick

Interactive fiction from 2014. A strange man tells you a story about how he is always getting mistaken for someone else.

the uncle who works for nintendo

A game from 2014. You are a child in the late 90s, going to your best friend's house for a sleepover. Your best friend is so cool, because they've got all the latest games, and all the systems to play it on. All thanks to their uncle who works for Nintendo. Who is dropping by for a visit that night, as it happens. This game won "Best Nonplayer Character" in the 2014 XYZZY Awards.

the bones picked clean and the clean bones gone

A lightly interactive ghost story from 2014. A young American woman and her friends go on a vacation to the Welsh seashore. What happens from there is... ambiguous.

Epic Fantasy Quest

A short joke game from 2015. See how epic you can make YOUR fantasy quest.

Project C

Forthcoming from Half Mermaid, makers of the acclaimed Immortality. I am a writer on this game along with Sam Barlow and Brandon Cronenberg. Wishlist it on Steam to learn more as it develops.
